Paltsi Village - South Pelion
Paltsi is a vast area of Argalasti that stretches up to the coast
of the Aegean Sea, where you will find the beautiful and big sandy
beach of Agios Konstantinos, which is one of the most beautiful
and popular beaches in all of Pelion.
The small hamlet that is situated on the beach is known also as
Paltsi. Very close to the beach of Agios Konstantinos, is the second
beach of Paltsi, known as
Melani, and offers peace and tranquility. Palsti itself is located
just 13 km from Argalasti and 53 km from Volos.
The whole area is ideal for trekking and here you will find manay
natural paths leading in different directions. In the greater area
of Paltsi, ruins and signs of habitation during the old Christian
and medieval period were discovered, indicating that this area was
inhabited.
If you follow the path that leads to Lafkos, you will pass through
a magnificent route, and have the chance to pass the green gorge
with the beautiful natural springs and the rich fauna.
Walking this path you can visit the monastery of Agii Taxiarhes,
which is situated few kilometers. from Lafkos. The monastery was
built in 1795, with the financial help of the famous hero of the
Greek revolution in 1821 Stergio Basdeki and celebrates every year
on the 5th and 6th of September with a large religious and traditional
festival, in memory of Agii Taxiarhes.
The hamlet Paltsi is very close to Argalasti, so is serviced by
the Medical Center and the Pharmacy of Argalasti. It is not included
on the routes of KTEL of Magnesia ( Public Coaches ) so the closest
stop is at the village Argalasti, where you can continue for Paltsiby
taxi.
