Lefokastro Village - South Pelion

Lefokastro is a charming picturesque coastal hamlet on the Pagasitic gulf, 6 km from Argalasti and 34 km from Volos. It provides the perfect setting for relaxing and peaceful holidays.

A little further out from the hamlet are the ruins of the medieval castle, while if you take a walk around you will find the 9 Byzantine churches of the village, the small arched bridge that is
dated from 1891 and the marble fountain with the marble palm of hands and the two signs written in Turkish and the one with the two - headed eagle in Greek.

The road that continues from Lefokastro is a small route that goes through olive groves and isolated beaches and ends in the “cosmopolitan” resort of Afissos.

One suggestion for an excursion is the drive to the mountainous village of Neohori, where you can visit the church of Agios Dimitrios, that is dated from 1760 and is decorated with frescos by Ioannis Pagonis.

The village is not included in the routes of the KTEL buses of Magnesia, the nearest stop is Argalssti where you can hire a taxi to continue your journey to Lefokastro. For your medical needs you will be serviced at Argalasti’s Medical Center and chemist.
